Hey guys, remember all those comic teases?

Well put them to rest as the comic has been officially announced. And guess what?! NO EGYPT! It takes place in Mother Russia!

I really feel this is uberly epic because I'm a Russian, as everyone probably knows by now, and I'm fairly patriotic to it, so whenever I see Russia related game things I go nuts (Metro 2033 for instance). But Assassin's Creed? That's just beyond awesome.

Anyway, check out this cool video on the joystiq page. It's the announcement clip that also reveals the awesome Russian-ized logo of Assassin's Creed (which is totally my new avatar).

Anyway, it'll be dealing with the Tunguska event apparently, which I thought was interesting when I read about it back in the art book, where it described that it was a result of a Brotherhood attack on one of the Templar's research stations. Can't believe they're taking a whole comic to this!

I doubt this is a pre-lude to the 3rd game though. It clearly says that there's now no chance of a game being set in Russia, not that I was ever particularly asking for one either. But I'm totally looking forward to this comic. It will be revealed at next week's San Diego Comic Con, at the booth called "Assassin's Creed: Behind and Beyond the Brotherhood" which will be hosted by Morgan Webb from G4. I'm very excited!

Cheers!

Brotherhood, being a game that we don't seem to want but are getting anyway, brought a lot of worries to many Assassin's Creed fans around the globe. Is Ubisoft going to milk the franchise? Is this the beginning of the end of the series?

It doesn't look like it. Like the beloved creative director, Patrice Desilets, himself, the game seems to be slated to take a break after Brotherhood.

"I don't think there's going to be an Assassin's Creed in 2011. I think we're going to let it breathe a bit and really focus on bringing something new and exciting for the next time around"
says the game's associate producer, Jean-Francois Boivin.

"You want to keep people excited. You gotta make people miss it a bit. It's like, 'Oh man! I'm so happy it's back!' But if you keep force-feeding to people then people are like, 'Yeah, enough of your Assassin's Creed'."

What he's saying is completely true, and really does put our worries to an end. As long as what he says will happen, I'll stick with Ubisoft on this one, and forgive Brotherhood even though it still seems a bit like a half-assed accident that came out of Ubisoft's uncomfortable relationship with the creative director.

Speaking of which, it seems like Patrice decided to leave purely out of the fact that he was tired, not Ubisoft's decision to release a game yearly (about which all the google news have suspiciously disappeared and searches of it have been replaced with the fact that there will be no game in 2011).

"I totally got where he was coming from because he's been talking about taking a break for a long time," says Jean, again, his friend and colleague.
In addition, he mentioned that Patrice did everything he needed to do for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. Which is good, because we know that the team wouldn't go astray in the project and make it bad because of Patrice's absence.

"In regards to Brotherhood, he did everything that he needed to do; he was at the recording sessions, he did the script, he did the casting with me, and he just said 'here's the port, bring it home,'" he states.

Although that seems like good news, it doesn't justify the same concern for Assassin's Creed 3. Assuming the game will be out in 2012, freakishly the year that the whole game seems to be about (in terms of Desmond's situation, and Abstergo's plans to place the piece of Eden into orbit on 12/21/2012), it seems like enough time for Patrice to take a break. But nobody knows if he will be back, and according to Boivin, "I don't know. He doesn't even know himself."

Oh, and here is some action figures.

I don't know why the hell they keep doing this, but they've been like, ASK QUESTIONS NOW! for the past couple of months.
I honestly don't have questions and seen everything I wanted to at E3, for the rest I'm ok for waiting for the game.

But they're not done asking you to ask questions, so now you can ask questions to this nice man here.

Great news guys. The image that popped up a while ago of that Egyptian looking Assassin is actually part of an artbook that Ubisoft Workshop is working right now.
They even released a new image, which you can see here.

But here's the good news: They were so surprised by the reaction to the artbook (there was one?) they decided to add a "Carte Blanche" section to the artbook, which will consist of fan-made art, like yours! So if you submit it here (that's an e-mail link), there's a chance your art will come up in the book.

Good luck!

So the fun GameSpot guy decided to interview the also fun Ubisoft guy who is in charge of representing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
Check it out here.

Nothing new, (even though the GameSpot guy tried, haha) but it's great for some shits and giggles.

Enjoy!

bahahaha oh my god I can't stop laughing at how he forgot about the PS3. And he said PC first! Yeah!
