Oh god, this is really, really bad news.
It is currently rumored that Patrice Desilets, the creative director of Assassin's Creed - basically the man behind the game has left his job. I'm not sure where it came from, but Kotaku says "Ubisoft recently announced plans to follow an Activision-style model with its most popular series, producing annual iterations of its most popular brands. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is due out a year after Assassin's Creed II's November 2009 release. If Désilets has left it's unknown what motivated his departure, but certainly speculation is fixating on this philosophical shift." I hadn't heard of the Ubisoft thing but I do understand what's going on if that's true. I must say I have to go with Desilets on this one, if I were him, I'd leave too. But Ubisoft... you can't do this. There's just no way you can do the same thing to Assassin's Creed. It's too good of a plot and story and everything else behind it. It isn't like Call of Duty, where you can just keep making shooter games and throw in some mini-story into there and you'll be fine. No, this is more than that. If all of this is true I lose complete respect for Ubisoft. I guess another company is making the move to hell. This is a huge shame. I can't believe that even this is falling into that same money trap. It's not about games anymore - it wasn't for a long time, but at least there were people like Patrice who kept it up. I guess now he's gone. Now it's just a matter of time before our series is gone too. UPDATE: It has been confirmed that Patrice left Ubisoft. Ubisoft released this statement to Gameinformer: "With his role on project essentially done, Patrice Désilets has decided to take a creative break from the industry and is no longer working on Assassin's Creed Brotherhood." Sigh. Good bye Patrice. It was nice playing your games. So... what are we going to do now guys? EDIT: I know what we're going to do. We're going to make a tribute to him. Like, a tribute to him from our website as a whole which I'll then pass onto him. Since we have so many artists, let's draw all of our Assassins except with Patrice in an Assassin suit in the middle! And then write a message to him on the picture and then send it over. I mean we can't just sit here and be sad about this. We need to at least let him know how much the fans care. Who is up for it? UPDATE 2: Word in town is that Patrice has landed a job at THQ Montreal. Something I expected. Guess it isn't family after all, eh? Oh well. I like THQ, I'm sure he'll be welcomed there. ________________________________________________   |

I wonder if he'll be promoting a E3, and will make an anouncement there. Definitely sad news.
As for a group pic, VERY very good idea! I'm up for it, and if Marka wants to tackle it, I definitely approve.  Yet I will produce a cartoony pic of myself, and upload it to ya to layer in, if ya don't mind. not us... The characters from the game, and him in the middle.
It can either be Ezio and Altair, or we can just plaster everyone else on there (Desmond, Lucy, Rebecca and that british dude, Leonardo, everything  )And he can be in the middle in front of all of them (kind of like the ACB cover art) in an Assassin suit. ________________________________________________ |

I don't think he cares about our site... Nor does he know anything about it. Nor does anyone for that matter, except the Ubisoft marketing/PR department, which isn't very amusing.
I'd just rather stick with the picture, a message from all of us somewhere in the corner, and then I'll send it to him saying it's from all of us at 1191adb and if any of you have something specific you'd like to say I'll send that too. ________________________________________________ |
